The Transformation is in the Yielding: Come Out

The word yield has several meanings, but for the purposes of this reading we’ll use the second and third entry from Merriam-Websters dictionary. It says, “To give up possession of on claim or demand, such as to surrender or relinquish to the physical control of another, hand over possession of; to give or render as fitting, rightfully owed, or required.”

We give up possession of ourselves. We give up all rights to ourselves. We give, or render to GOD what is fitting. Romans 12 tells us, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.” (Romans 12:1 King James Version)

That word reasonable comes from the Greek word logikos. The English word logic is related to it. It means service or worship that we bring to GOD because we reason that it is the right thing to do; our souls tell us that it is what we should be doing. Some people in the church have said it like this, “Who wouldn’t serve a GOD like that!” After all GOD has done for us, it is only reasonable that we serve and worship HIM; and one way that we worship the LORD is through obedience. We give ourselves over to HIS will because HE paid such a heavy price for us through the blood of HIS Son, Jesus.

Yielding to be Transformed

“3 Then I went down to the potter's house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels. 4 And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.” (Jeremiah 18:3-4 KJV).

Yield, and GOD will make us over. We have to get on the potter’s wheel. If you’re not saved, get saved. Ask GOD to save you, and it’s done. “13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13 KJV).

Getting on the potter’s wheel means I’m ready to do it GOD’s way instead of my way. It means I am ready, like Jesus, to say not my will but yours be done, GOD. It means we are ready to become the new creation Paul speaks of in 2 Corinthians; “17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV).

It means we are ready for GOD to mar or destroy the vessel that we were, as the Jeremiah verse says. We are ready to die to self and live for everything GOD has for us. Saying no to ourselves is not easy, but for those who are ready they know this is past due. It is time to walk into the promises of GOD, and leave disobedience, defeat, and struggle behind.

Take heart; we have help! “13 And now you Gentiles have also heard the truth, the Good News that God saves you. And when you believed in Christ, he identified you as his own by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom he promised long ago.” (Ephesians 1:13 New Living Translation).

Once we are saved, the Holy Spirit comes immediately to live inside us. Listen to, and obey all that He says. He is the very Spirit of GOD, of Jesus. He guides us into all truth and understanding (John 14:26). This is yielding, listening to and obeying the voice of GOD.

Remember Romans 12:1 quoted above. We are to present ourselves to GOD, to stand before the LORD as living sacrifices. We are saying, “GOD, here I am. Have your way with my life!” This is yielding.

Again, let GOD make you anew on the potter’s wheel as HE sees fit. This is yielding.

GOD is saying, “Give yourself to ME, and you will be born again.” The LORD is saying, “Be birthed! Come out the womb!” HE is saying, “Allow the birth to happen! Be the new creation I created you to be. Come forth!” GOD is calling you to COME FORTH!

GOD is stretching HIS arms out and calling to you, “Come forth!” HE is saying, “Come out from your dark situation.” This is yielding.

“16 And what union can there be between God’s temple and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God said: “I will live in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they will be my people. 17 Therefore, come out from among unbelievers, and separate yourselves from them, says the Lord. Don’t touch their filthy things, and I will welcome you. 18 And I will be your Father, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.” (2 Corinthians 6:16-18 NLT)

This is yielding.

Come out.

Be birthed from the pain.

Be birthed from the darkness.

It is time to be birthed from the womb of trials and tribulations, and grow into whom GOD created you to be. “10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” (Ephesians 2:10 NLT).

Be blessed, family. Happy birth-day!

“14 May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.” (2 Corinthians 13:14 NLT). Amen (it is so, may it be fulfilled).

How to be Saved

Romans 10: 9-13

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved (KJV).

9 If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved. 11 As the Scriptures tell us, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.” 12 Jew and Gentile are the same in this respect. They have the same Lord, who gives generously to all who call on him. 13 For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (NLT).

Say the welcoming word to God—“Jesus is my Master”—embracing, body and soul, God’s work of doing in us what he did in raising Jesus from the dead. That’s it. You’re not “doing” anything; you’re simply calling out to God, trusting him to do it for you. That’s salvation. With your whole being you embrace God setting things right, and then you say it, right out loud: “God has set everything right between him and me!” 11-13 Scripture reassures us, “No one who trusts God like this—heart and soul—will ever regret it.” It’s exactly the same no matter what a person’s religious background may be: the same God for all of us, acting the same incredibly generous way to everyone who calls out for help. “Everyone who calls, ‘Help, God!’ gets help. (MSG).

Romans 5:8

8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (KJV)

8 But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. (NLT)

It is your belief that saves you, family. If you believe, you will speak what you believe and not be ashamed or embarrassed to do so, whether you are alone or among others. Simply talk to GOD. Say aloud to God:

“I confess all my sin, known and unknown, and ask You, GOD to forgive me. I believe Jesus was born of a virgin, crucified, died for my sins, and rose from the dead. I want Jesus to come into my heart to make me new in Him. I believe Jesus is Lord over my life and over everything that exists. Thank You, GOD for Your forgiveness. Thank You, Jesus, for making me Your own. Amen.”

You are now saved. You may not feel different or you may. Just know that the internal change is taking place once you uttered that prayer in faith. Day by day, you will begin to be transformed into whom GOD wants and created you to be. You will care more about the things of GOD than your own personal desires, and you will want to share the word of GOD when you have the opportunity. Begin to read your bible daily, and learn about GOD's will for your life. If you are not already a member of a local church, I encourage you to pray and allow GOD to guide you to the right fellowship for you. The pastor will help you grow in your gifts and talents so that you can begin to use them for GOD’s glory, and you and the other members will encourage and help each other along this journey with GOD.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
