The Most Holy Place

22 And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubims which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give thee in commandment unto the children of Israel. (Exodus 25:22 King James Version).

The GOD of the universe, of everything that exists, THE Creator GOD spoke with a man, Moses, face to face from right above the cherubim atop the ark of the covenant! That was the holiest and most sacred place in all of Israel, the place where the presence of GOD could literally be seen as a cloud coming down and resting. I’m just shaking my head. That’s a lot, extremely overwhelming, deer caught in headlights type thing.

The ark of the covenant represented the presence of GOD. It even had its own special place inside of the tabernacle behind a veil/curtain so that it could not readily be seen. This was called the most holy place.

33 And thou shalt hang up the vail under the taches, that thou mayest bring in thither within the vail the ark of the testimony: and the vail shall divide unto you between the holy place and the most holy. 34 And thou shalt put the mercy seat upon the ark of the testimony in the most holy place. (Exodus 26:33-34 KJV).

6 Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God. 7 But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people. (Hebrews 9:6-7 KJV).

The most holy place, where the ark was kept that represented the very presence of GOD, was only entered once per year and only by the high priest, who was the highest ranking minister in the temple at that time. He had to have a blood offering for himself and the sins of the people so that he would not enter GOD’s presence with sin because sin demanded blood/death to be atoned for (Hebrews 9:22).

So, what’s the point? The holiest of holies was inside the tabernacle, the building made for worshiping GOD. It was the holiest place in all of Israel. After the death and resurrection of Jesus, we became that building which houses the presence of GOD! We became the tabernacle! The ark of the covenant/testimony resides in us! The presence of GOD resides in us! HIS living Spirit, better known as Holy Spirit, lives in you and me! At the moment of conversion, we became the holiest place in our location! Read that again.

That means we are holy. We are consecrated and sanctified just like the tabernacle, the ark, and everything in the tabernacle including the furnishings, as well as the priesthood, Aaron and his sons. It makes us think twice about what comes out of our mouths, where we go, what we do, what we put into our bodies, how we carry ourselves, etc. We are a walking temple.

26 And thou shalt anoint the tabernacle of the congregation therewith, and the ark of the testimony, 29 And thou shalt sanctify them, that they may be most holy: whatsoever toucheth them shall be holy. 30 And thou shalt anoint Aaron and his sons, and consecrate them, that they may minister unto me in the priest's office. (Exodus 30:26, 29-30 KJV).

Consecrate means to set apart. Holy means set aside for sacred or religious use, for GOD’s use. This also means sanctified. In the verse above, they used anointing oil to make the tabernacle and everything in it holy. Today, Holy Spirit Himself anoints us! Not the olive oil, not the sacred anointing oil meant to represent His presence, but the Spirit of the Living GOD Himself purifies us, cleanses us, and sets us apart for GOD’s use! My, LORD!

5 Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts. 6 Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar: 7 And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged. (Isaiah 6:5-7 KJV).

The angel took a holy thing, touched Isaiah, and made him holy. Remember the Exodus scripture from above that said anything that touches the things in the tabernacle which had been sanctified would be made holy. When Jesus died and rose again, He made it possible for Holy Spirit to dwell inside us and cleanse us. The blood of Jesus took our sins and iniquity away, purged us of all evil and made us fit for the LORD’s use. We were touched by the holiness of GOD and became holy. That’s why Paul writes,

19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. (1 Corinthians 6:19-20 KJV).

I know some of us may feel like Isaiah did. I know I sure have. We feel like we can’t be used by GOD, that we are sinners hanging around sinners, but GOD says that HE is the GOD of reconciliation. HE is the GOD Who makes things right between us and HIMSELF by any means necessary, even if that meant HE had to let HIS own Son be killed by the very humans HE created to glorify HIM. Yes, HE would do it and did it. GOD touched us with HIS holiness.

I’ve heard some people say, who wouldn’t serve a GOD like that? The answer, unfortunately, is many of us. We have allowed satan to blind us due to our unbelief.

“3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.” (2 Corinthians 4:4 KJV).

What unbelief, you ask? The unbelief is revealed when we don’t trust GOD so we do things our way. We don't believe in the power of prayer so we don’t spend time praying. We don’t believe the bible so we speak worldly thoughts instead of scripture over our lives. We don’t believe GOD lives in us so we look everywhere else for answers instead of spending quiet time with GOD, asking HIM for direction, then waiting to receive it. We don’t believe that we have been made holy as believers, so we act like heathens. This is the blindness satan has stricken us with because we have allowed him to.

Like the verse above says, the truth of the gospel has been hidden from us. Remember the words of Jesus, “32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:32 KJV). Do we believe that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6)? Do we believe what He says? If so, we are free from the bondage and shackles of this world. We are free from the wiles/tricks of the enemy. This is one reason why the first piece of armor that Paul mentions in Ephesians 6 is the belt of truth. Truth is the belt that the rest of the armor hangs on. If we don’t believe, then all the power made available to us is useless.

We have been made holy. This is a fact. Will we lay down our will today and allow the holiness that is on us and in us to shine through? It is an anointing. It cannot be washed off. No matter how much dirt we have done, if we are a believer, we have been called to holiness and being in the service of the LORD. We are HIS ministers. That means we serve HIM and wait upon HIM. In Jesus’ name, may we who are out of position return to our birthright as children of GOD, and be the temples that the LORD has created us to be, empowered by Holy Spirit to shine the spotlight of the gospel all over the dark places of the world. Amen (it is so, may it be fulfilled).

How to be Saved

Romans 10: 9-13

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved (KJV).

9 If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved. 11 As the Scriptures tell us, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.” 12 Jew and Gentile are the same in this respect. They have the same Lord, who gives generously to all who call on him. 13 For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (NLT).

Say the welcoming word to God—“Jesus is my Master”—embracing, body and soul, God’s work of doing in us what he did in raising Jesus from the dead. That’s it. You’re not “doing” anything; you’re simply calling out to God, trusting him to do it for you. That’s salvation. With your whole being you embrace God setting things right, and then you say it, right out loud: “God has set everything right between him and me!” 11-13 Scripture reassures us, “No one who trusts God like this—heart and soul—will ever regret it.” It’s exactly the same no matter what a person’s religious background may be: the same God for all of us, acting the same incredibly generous way to everyone who calls out for help. “Everyone who calls, ‘Help, God!’ gets help. (MSG).

Romans 5:8

8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (KJV)

8 But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. (NLT)

It is your belief that saves you, family. If you believe, you will speak what you believe and not be ashamed or embarrassed to do so, whether you are alone or among others. Simply talk to GOD. Say aloud to the LORD:

“I confess all my sin known and unknown, and ask You, GOD, to forgive me. I believe Jesus was born of a virgin, crucified, died for my sins, and rose from the dead. Jesus, come into my heart and make me new in You. Save me, Lord! Jesus, you are Lord. Be Lord over my life. Thank You, GOD for Your forgiveness. Thank You, Jesus, for making me Your own. Amen.”

You are now saved. You may not feel different or you may. Just know that the internal change is taking place once you uttered that prayer in faith. Day by day, you will begin to be transformed into whom GOD wants and created you to be. You will care more about the things of GOD than your own personal desires, and you will want to share the word of GOD when you have the opportunity. Begin to read your bible daily, and learn about GOD's will for your life. If you are not already a member of a local church, I encourage you to pray and allow GOD to guide you to the right fellowship for you. The pastor will help you grow in your gifts and talents so that you can begin to use them for GOD’s glory, and you and the other members will encourage and help each other along this journey with GOD.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
