No Doubt

After we have had a high moment with GOD, a mountaintop experience, breakthrough worship, breakthrough prayer; after such a grand time, doubt may creep in once we come down off that high, once we leave the church building, once we hang up from the prayer line, once we come out of worship. It is at these times that we must stay in the word. We must hold on to the promise.

“5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. 6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. 7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. 8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.” (James 1:5-8 King James Version).

The devil comes to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). He is waiting to steal the word that we just received, waiting to afflict us with some pain or bad news that goes against what we just heard from GOD. Jesus called satan a murderer and a liar (John 8:44). He lives to create havoc in our lives, and then points out our downfalls to GOD. He is even called the accuser of the brethren (Revelation 12:10). Satan accuses us day and night before GOD. He delights in criticizing our walk, pointing out our faults, and questioning our faith and allegiance to GOD (Job 1:9-11).

This same satan is whom we must guard against when things come into our lives that are contrary to what GOD has told us. If we do not, we may become blinded by satan through unbelief and blocked from seeing the truth of Who GOD is and what HE has proclaimed for us (2 Corinthians 4:4).

How do we guard against such attacks? GOD said the relationship will improve, but an argument breaks out. GOD said you were healed, but you feel a sharp pain. GOD said you will be provided for, but you just lost your job.

Chapter six of Ephesians gives us a list that details the armor of GOD, but in this case the most important is the shield of faith. Why? Because without faith it is impossible to please GOD; if we don’t believe GOD or that HE exists, how can we receive anything from HIM (Hebrews 11:6)? As the verse above from James says, doubters are moved by every wind that comes and tests what GOD has said. James goes on to say that such a person should not expect to receive anything from the LORD.

Jesus says,

“23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. 24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” (Mark 11:23-24 KJV).

Without faith, we will not receive the promise. Jesus tells us to believe before we have received for a reason. He is teaching us how to activate faith. “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1 KJV). If we hope for something then we don’t have it yet. But, if we have faith in what we haven’t seen, it means that we actually have it. How? Because we have the faith to believe for it, and that faith means I believe in something that I cannot yet see. I can’t explain it, but I know that it’s on the way. Jesus said that is faith, and it will get you what you are believing GOD for.

It is a dance that we do until the grave. The devil throws shade, we throw light. He throws fiery darts of doubt, we lift up the shield of faith and quench them. Depression, disease, chaos; we are to take these thoughts and others like them captive and make them obey what Christ has said (2 Corinthians 10:4-5). Depressed? GOD said in HIS presence is fullness of joy, and we have joy in the Holy Spirit (Psalm 16:11/Romans 14:17). Diseased? GOD said HE heals all of our diseases, and by the stripes of Jesus we are healed (Psalm 103:3/1 Peter 2:24). Chaos? GOD said if we keep our minds on HIM, we will have perfect peace, and if we give our worries to HIM, we will receive peace in return (Isaiah 26:3/Philippians 4:6-7). Just remember to have no doubt. Like the verse in James reminds us, if we doubt we will not receive anything.

Call for Help When You Need It

If we get tired, if we feel like giving up, let a trusted prayer partner know. Call a prayer warrior, someone who believes like you believe. Get yourself an Aaron to hold up one arm and a Hur to hold up your other. As long as Moses had his hands raised, the army was winning the battle, but when he lowered them they began to lose (Exodus 17:10-13). Among other things, this is an awesome example of praising and lifting GOD above our circumstances. If circumstances have you weary, call the prayer warriors to agree with you in prayer. Jesus says that where two or three agree, GOD in heaven answers the request (Matthew 18:19-20).

There is victory in numbers, and it’s exponential in the kingdom. The bible says one person can put 1,000 to flight, but two people can put 10,000 to flight (Deuteronomy 32:30)! Don’t forget the people at the Tower of Babel. When the people were on one accord and of one mind, GOD HIMSELF came down and said there is nothing that they will not be able to accomplish (Genesis 11:1-6)!

Be encouraged, Family. Hold on to your promise. It will surely come to pass no matter how long it takes. Only believe, and have no doubt. If you get tired, call the prayer warriors. They are waiting. If you don’t know any, email me. We will be happy to pray with you (teachingthekingdom@gmail.com).

“33 Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.” (Romans 15:33 KJV).

How to be Saved

Romans 10: 9-13

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved (KJV).

9 If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved. 11 As the Scriptures tell us, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.” 12 Jew and Gentile are the same in this respect. They have the same Lord, who gives generously to all who call on him. 13 For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (NLT).

Say the welcoming word to God—“Jesus is my Master”—embracing, body and soul, God’s work of doing in us what he did in raising Jesus from the dead. That’s it. You’re not “doing” anything; you’re simply calling out to God, trusting him to do it for you. That’s salvation. With your whole being you embrace God setting things right, and then you say it, right out loud: “God has set everything right between him and me!” 11-13 Scripture reassures us, “No one who trusts God like this—heart and soul—will ever regret it.” It’s exactly the same no matter what a person’s religious background may be: the same God for all of us, acting the same incredibly generous way to everyone who calls out for help. “Everyone who calls, ‘Help, God!’ gets help. (MSG).

Romans 5:8

8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (KJV)

8 But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. (NLT)

It is your belief that saves you, family. If you believe, you will speak what you believe and not be ashamed or embarrassed to do so, whether you are alone or among others. Simply talk to GOD. Say aloud to God:

“I confess all my sin, known and unknown, and ask You, GOD to forgive me. I believe Jesus was born of a virgin, crucified, died for my sins, and rose from the dead. I want Jesus to come into my heart to make me new in Him. I believe Jesus is Lord over my life and over everything that exists. Thank You, GOD for Your forgiveness. Thank You, Jesus, for making me Your own. Amen.”

You are now saved. You may not feel different or you may. Just know that the internal change is taking place once you uttered that prayer in faith. Day by day, you will begin to be transformed into whom GOD wants and created you to be. You will care more about the things of GOD than your own personal desires, and you will want to share the word of GOD when you have the opportunity. Begin to read your bible daily, and learn about GOD's will for your life. If you are not already a member of a local church, I encourage you to pray and allow GOD to guide you to the right fellowship for you. The pastor will help you grow in your gifts and talents so that you can begin to use them for GOD’s glory, and you and the other members will encourage and help each other along this journey with GOD.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
